5% ABV, Bottle
Appearance: Orange-red hue with a high head.
Aroma: A bit of sour fruit, somewhat unusual.
Taste: Sour and nutty, which surprisingly works well together.
Mouthfeel: Medium bodied.
Erik the Red isn’t your typical Irish Red Ale — rather, it contains some sour and nut flavors that surprisingly blend together quite well. The sour aspects of this brew seem to come from tart fruit — perhaps apple or grape. Overall, this is an interesting take on the style and one that stands out to me.
